The overall social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic includes the economic crisis of 2020-2021. School closures, isolation, curfews: children and young
people are particularly affected by the restrictions. That’s why it’s important to us to give them a voice. “How has Corona changed my life?” is what we asked children and young people. Children and young people from Bangladesh, Bolivia, Germany, Namibia, and Spain sent us their contributions. In this exhibition, we see their artistic answers.

Appolia Dabe is a „Kunst für Bildung“ -team member. In February 2016 she worked with learners from the Light for the Children Centre in Gobabis and trained them to use the Omaheke Memo. „It was a lot of fun.“, she explained. „I would directly do it again. “ If you like to join „Kunst für Bildung“, contact us and support us in Germany or Namibia.

The project “Very Fresh Namibian Photographers” was coordinated by graphic designer Christoph Pauli. During a photo workshop at the Morukutu Primary School in Otjiyarwa learners experimented and presented their daily life with disposable cameras. The pictures were published in a small booklet.

Very Fresh Namibian Photographers ist ein Kunstprojekt von Grafik Designer Christoph Pauli. Während eines Fotoworkshops an der Morukutu Primary School in Namibia, erhielten die Schüler der sechsten Klasse Einwegkameras und konnten damit ihr Leben ablichten. Die Bilder wurden in einem kleinen Heft zusammengestellt und veröffentlicht.

In October 2015 “Kunst für Bildung” teamed up with the Directorate of Education of the Omaheke Regional Council. Together we like to distribute the Omaheke Memo to all pre-primary schools and ECD-institutions in the Omaheke Region till the end of 2016. Im Oktober 2015 vereinbarte “Kunst für Bildung” eine Kooperation mit dem Bildungsdirektorium der Omaheke Region. Gemeinsam wollen wir, dass alle Vorschulen und Kindergärten der Region bis Ende 2016 das Omaheke Memo erhalten, dass auf die Lebenswelt von Kindern in der Omaheke zugeschnitten ist.
