From January 2019 till December 2019 the Art for Education-Team implements a project in Epako together with the Light for the Children Foundation. 15 children with need of special support in the pre-primary age group have been identified and receive art classes twice per week.
The project is managed by Barbara Scharfbillig and Patricia Ndjavera and implemented by Sofia Lubbe and Stephanus Narib. Other team members are Gijsbertha van Rooyen, Corinna Ernst and Alissa Jahn wo take care of the fundraising and finances.
During the year the teachers cover different themes with the children and explore their environment with them. Additionally they receive special support and get training in eye-hand coordination. By doing home visits the teachers observe carefully the surrounding of the children and may react to the different needs of the kinds individually.
The programme is financed by the German Federal State of Rhineland-Paltinate and Suni e.V. and will run in a pilot phase until December 2019.

Von Januar 2019 bis Dezember 2019 realisiert das Art for Education-Team ein Projekt in Epako zusammen mit der Light for the Children Foundation. Es wurden 15 Kinder mit besonderem Unterstützungsbedarf in der vorschulischen Altersgruppe identifiziert, die zweimal pro Woche Kunstunterricht erhalten.
Das Projekt wird von Barbara Scharfbillig und Patricia Ndjavera geleitet und von Sofia Lubbe und Stephanus Narib umgesetzt. Weitere Teammitglieder sind Gijsbertha van Rooyen, Corinna Ernst und Alissa Jahn, die sich um das Fundraising und die Finanzen kümmern.
Im Laufe des Jahres decken die Lehrer mit den Kindern verschiedene Themen ab und erkunden mit ihnen ihre Umgebung. Zusätzlich erhalten sie besondere Unterstützung und werden in der Augen-Hand-Koordination geschult. Bei Hausbesuchen beobachten die Lehrer sorgfältig die Umgebung der Kinder und können individuell auf die unterschiedlichen Bedürfnisse der Kinder eingehen.
Das Programm wird vom Land Rheinland-Pfalz (Referenat Entwicklungszusammenarbeit) und Suni e.V. finanziert und läuft in einer Pilotphase bis Dezember 2019.
